Cleveland Wrestlers Earn Class AA Sectional Win, Return To State Duals

It took a just little more than an hour for the Blue Raiders earn the right to make a run at their sixth straight state duals wrestling title with a decisive win over Oakland Saturday at Cleveland High School in the AA sectional match.

The Raiders wrestled to seven pins a major decision and two regular decisions in the 58-15 victory.

Kaden Rice and Daniel Sins opened with decisions for the Raiders at 132 and 138 pounds. Logan Fowler (152), Cy Fowler (160) and Dylan Harrold (170) came through with back-to-back-to back pins to run the score to 24-3.

Oakland picked up a decision at 145.

Lucas Szymborski walked away with a forfeit at 182 in front of a Tyson Russel major decision at 195.

Oakland pins at 220 and 285 made it a 34-15 match after 10 bouts.

Cleveland’s Jose Codero opened a string of four consecutive Blue Raider pins at 106 pounds. Chase Walker (113), Zac Bosken (120) and Bentley Ellison (126) all followed up with six point wins to up the Cleveland make it a 58-15 final.

The Blue Raiders will be looking for their sixth consecutive state duals title Saturday, in Franklin.
