By this time – many of you have seen that we are doing highlights of different teams across the SE as we gear up to drop the team previews in 7 weeks. I was releasing one team a day, but with now over 140 teams having sent in information – I’ll try to ramp it up a bit so we can get as many in as possible before the first part of October. I can’t guarantee I’ll get to everyone, but I will try to get to as many as possible. Please re-visit when the actual previews get dropped in October because what I am sharing below are just a few of the names the coaches have given me. Much more will be shared – plus SEWrestle’s “What to Expect” – in the team previews.

Blackman (Tennessee)

One of the top programs in Tennessee – regardless of classification – Blackman is back and hungry to defend their Region 5 title and push Cleveland, Wilson Central, Bradley Central, and the other 3A powerhouses for the top spot at the state tournament. Coach Bray returns for year #26 and has quite the squad with 10 returning starters from last year’s team including:

  • State Champ Justin Bradford
  • State Placers Mason Sells and Justin Brown

Keep an eye on Aslan Nadeau, Grant Myers, and Josh Chew – who each made it to the bloodround in 2021 and will look to climb high on the podium in 2022.

The Blaze also bring in some freshmen that will look to push into the starting lineup in David Bradford, Isaiah Thephavong, and Jaden Maxwell.
