By this time – many of you have seen that we are doing highlights of different teams across the SE as we gear up to drop the team previews in 6 weeks. I was releasing one team a day, but with now over 170 teams having sent in information – I’ll try to ramp it up a bit so we can get as many in as possible before the first part of October. I can’t guarantee I’ll get to everyone, but I will try to get to as many as possible.

Please re-visit when the actual previews get dropped in October because what I am sharing below are just a few of the names the coaches have given me. Much more will be shared – plus SEWrestle’s “What to Expect” – in the team previews. Lastly, if you want to know whether we have your form … you can find the list of everyone that has submitted a form in the blog archive.

Tullahoma (TN)

Coach Morris enters year #11 and makes the strange trip to 1A in 2021-2022. The TSSAA has re-classified schools based on enrollment and Tullahoma is one of the schools that moves down to a smaller classification. Tullahoma finished 34th at the 3A Traditional State Tournament in 2021 and with as many as 10 returners that competed at last year’s regional tournament … it will be interesting to see how they fare with some new faces (Lawrence County is the only other 3A team to move into District 12).

Cadan Avans finished the 2021 State Tournament 1-2 and will look to make a run for the podium in 2022. Avans is joined by returners Jaydon Lee, Cody Agnell, Caleb Adkins, Cole Morse, Jerzy Hendrix, Brett Smith, and Roark Konyndyk. Each competed at the regional tournament in 2021 and each will look to punch their ticket to the state tournament in 2022. The new classifications affords some teams the opportunity to see some new competition … it will be interesting to see who excels in the new environment.
