Summit (TN)

Summit is coming. The Spartans lose Justin and Austin Noll, but return a ton of talent from a team that finished in the top 5 at the 3A traditional state tournament in 2021. They might not have the horses to beat Cleveland, but should be in the pack with Wilson Central, Bradley Central, and others looking to challenge them for the 2A title in 2022. The Spartans return 6 Seniors that competed in the 2021 post-season including State Placer Jackson Masters and State Qualifiers Maddox Reed and Ryan Smith.

Summit has some outstanding Juniors and Sophomores including State Placers Finley Jameson, Luke Justice, and Landon Desselle. Jarvis Little had a lot of success in Fargo this summer and will look to join that group on the podium in 2022. Summit has a team that can make a run at everyone in 2A … will they? Depends on how well Austin Grooters, Jack Hill, Ty Garber, Grayson Miller and others wrestle. Keep an eye on freshman Patrick Brew – he will look to make some noise in 2022.

“This season we return 12 starters, 9 region medalists, 7 state qualifiers, 5 region champs, & 4 state medalists. Over the offseason we focused on freestyle & Greco State, Central Regionals, National Duals, & Fargo. This season we hope to improve off our 3rd place duals finish & 5th place finish at individuals. We have a great balance of upper classman leadership with younger talent. We have a solid schedule to make for a great 2021-22 season! ”
