In-state focus key to Volunteers’ schedule

The University of Tennessee wrestling program is focused on a strong in-state showing this season.

With 4 of the team’s 9 dates inside the border of Tennessee, the Volunteers look to make a statement against a re-emerging Tennessee Temple University program and NCWA D-1 teams ETSU and MTSU, as well as participating in the NCAA D-2 King College Open to prepare the squad for a tough NCWA Mid-Atlantic Conference tournament and NCWA National tournament to close out the season.

The Vols campaign within the state starts off on November 3rd against Tennessee Temple, which is followed two weeks later by the King College Open on the 18th on November before squaring off against ETSU on the 29th. Tennessee will potentially face both MTSU and Tennessee Temple in the Blue Raiders’ annual Alumni Duals tournament on December 1st in Smyrna, TN before ending their blitz of the state against ETSU and Tennessee Temple again on February 9th.
