Wilson Central returns to state duals
SHACKLE ISLAND — Wilson Central’s wrestling program is headed to the TSSAA State Duals for the fifth consecutive year after sweeping the Region 7-AAA tournament Thursday, Jan. 28 at Beech High School.

The Wildcats ripped Clarksville Northwest 73-6 in the semifinals, before disposing of host Beech 40-27 in the championship match — marking the fourth straight region championship for WCHS.

Coach John Kramer’s team improved to 36-5 on the season following Thursday’s sweep.

Alex Pergande, Simon Pergance, Nick King, Caleb Berta, Sinjin Noga, Damon Smith, Zach Linton, Kolin Miller and Michael Kramer all won their individual matches against Beech.

The TSSAA state duals are scheduled Feb. 5 and 6 at the Williamson County Expo Center. Weigh-ins are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Class AAA round of 16 planned for 3 p.m.

The quarterfinal round starts at 7 p.m. Friday with semifinals and finals on tap Saturday.
