45 Tennessee Youth and Middle School wrestlers received All-American Honors at the annual Dixie Nationals American Crown in Atlanta, GA earlier this week. The tournament, which is part of the America Crown series, boasted young wrestlers from across the country to compete across 2 divisions (beginners and open) and 131 weight classes ranging from 6 & under 40lbs up to High School 285lbs.
Higher Calling Wrestling Club notched the most All-Americans with 10 wrestlers earning the honors, followed by McCallie (6) and East Ridge (4). 9 Tennessee wrestlers took home championships in their respective weight classes. Aiden Britton (Spring Hill), Kolby Barrett (Knoxville Elite), Kobe Foster (East Ridge), Josh Pietarila (Knoxville Elite), Connor Duffy (Red Raiders), Nick McClendon (Marshall County), Jack Gentle (McCallie), Issac Brinson (Williamson County), and Carson Gentle (McCallie Wrestling Club) all won first place, with 6 more Tennesseans narrowly missing the top of the podium with runner-up finishes.
